my rage
is eating me alive but i do
not know
how
to engage
with my anger
without being consumed
by it.
loss of control is by far my biggest
fear.

Heya – I read you, but don’t think I’ve said anything before. My name’s Peter ;-)
This poem reminds me of some lines I liked from Brecht’s ‘To Posterity’:
Even the hatred of squalor
Makes the brow grow stern.
Even anger against injustice
Makes the voice grow harsh. alas, we
Who wished to lay the foundations of kindness
Could not ourselves be kind.
It sounds like you understood the process a stage or two before he realised it had already happened :-)
